2010 Beverly History Award

The Trustees of the Beverly Historical Society have chosen Fred Hammond as the first recipient of this award, for his significant contributions to the preservation and interpretation of Beverly history. Fred, who grew up in Montserrat and graduated from Beverly High School, taught at BHS for 38 years, and was named a Hall of Fame track coach in 2003. The Society will be honoring Fred for his dedication to preserving and interpreting Beverly history. He has inspired thousands of students and raised awareness of the historic buildings, objects, and stories of our history and in so doing has contributed to their preservation. Join members and friends at the Beverly Golf & Tennis Club, which celebrates its centennial this year. Tickets are $40; members may purchase tickets for $30 until April 17th; proceeds will benefit the programs and collections of the Society.
